New York requires every limited partnership or LLP registered in the state to file a biennial statement with the New York Department of State by the last day of the anniversary month of its formation every two years. The fee is $9. Miss it and the result is past due status; no fee but blocks other filings. A company registered in more than one state files this in each of them. A general partnership that never registered with the state files no annual report in most states; the line is for limited partnerships and LLPs.
