A charity that solicits in Florida registers with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and renews every year on the anniversary of its first registration, so the date is the charity's own. The fee runs from $10 for contributions under $5,000 to $400 above $10 million. The Department sends a renewal notice; a late renewal costs $25 a month. Charities raising under $50,000 a year use a simplified registration with no fee; religious organizations and schools are exempt.
