An Illinois corporation files its annual report before the first day of its anniversary month, so the due date is the last day of the month before. The $75 fee comes with a franchise tax on paid in capital, with an exemption that shields most small companies. A late report costs 10% of the delinquent franchise tax plus 2% interest for each month or part of one.
